Showtime for FM sector

PFM magazine looks at some highlights from this year's Facilities Show, discussing with industry experts who exhibited, including FSI.

Held once again at London's ExCeL, the Facilities Show 2016 provided visitors with a range of the latest products and services for the FM sector.

Organiser UBM reported an 18% increase in attendance over the first two days, with visitor numbers rising to 11,353 and a further 3,000 attending on the final day. More than 4,100 visitors were responsible for managing facilities with budgets of over £1m, said the organiser.

In addition to the 300+ exhibitors at the event, additional features included the BIFM Careers Zone and seminar theatres, which saw 26 presentations over the three days. PFM asked exhibitors for their thoughts on the show and response included FSI.

FSI (FM Solutions) exhibited its Internet of Things (IoT) technology for the FM market, integrated with its Concept Evolution workplace technology and mobile workforce management solutions, which can fundamentally change the way a property functions and is maintained, not just through automation, but through smart data.

"The show itself enabled FSI to catch up with existing contacts as well as to make new ones. Whilst we had a very busy three days, I managed to catch some of the very useful presentations and key-note speeches. I would say that The Facilities Show is the key facilities event in the UK," said FSI marketing manager Sally Wotton.

"Having The Facilities Show co-located with Safety & Health Expo, FIREX International, IFSEC International and
Service Management Expo ensures visitors get a full picture of what is available for achieving successful workplace productivity," said Ms Wotton.

The Facilities Show 2017 takes place on 20-22 June 2017.
